Who we are

Our Core Values

WISE believes that a self-organized, women-led and community-driven approach leads to inclusive, widely supported and sustainable development. The following core values guide all our actions and decisions:

Social Justice & Equity

We believe all vulnerable groups should be equal before the law and enjoy the same rights and opportunities. Every individual deserves physical security, access to education and health services, and fair opportunities for employment and social participation.

Unity in Diversity

We value diversity and inclusion. Vulnerable groups—such as women, widows, people living with HIV/AIDS, and single mothers—are often marginalized. Through cooperation and mutual respect, we focus on what unites communities rather than what divides them.

Winning Spirit

We promote a culture of excellence, accountability and positive attitudes. Empowerment is driven by personal integrity, enthusiasm, commitment, goal setting and the determination to respond constructively to challenges.

Self-Determination

We uphold the right of women and vulnerable groups to make decisions about their lives. This includes equal rights to property ownership, quality healthcare, freedom from violence, participation in decision-making, and contributing their perspectives to peace and development processes.

Empowerment

Empowerment includes both psychosocial and economic dimensions. We support women and vulnerable households with access to resources, skills and opportunities that enable them to improve livelihoods, engage in markets, become entrepreneurs and secure sustainable futures for the next generation.

Partnership

We believe strong partnerships are essential for sustainable development. We work collaboratively with communities, local authorities, schools, faith institutions, civil society organizations and private sector actors to achieve meaningful and lasting impact.
